Dr K Sivan popularly known as 'Rocket Man of India' will be the new Secretary of Department of Space and Chairman of Space Commission and ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation). He is currently director of Vikram Sarabhai Space Center.
Indu Malhotra: The Supreme Court collegium on Thursday recommended senior advocate Indu Malhotra as the first woman lawyer to be directly appointed as a judge of the apex court. . She will be one of only seven women judges that the top court has had so far since independence. At present, Justice R Banumathi is the lone woman judge in the apex court. In 1989, Justice M Fathima Beevi became the first woman to be appointed as a judge of the apex court.
A committee appointed by the government of India last year to examine the issues related to cryptocurrency has submited its report, a senior law ministry official said on Thursday. The panel is also examining pros and cons including launching an own cryptocurrency.

Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is working on safer Prasad at temples. FSSAI today organised a workshop in Delhi which was attended by representatives of all major temples. It has expanded its programme 'BHOG' which they launched in 2016 for training officials of renowned temples to ensure the 'Prasad' served to devotees is safe and hygienic.
